AboutKent
Kent joined the HQ staff in June of 2009 as the director of financial accountability. He served in this role for nine months before leading a new chapter support team which combined the conduct, financial and chapter support positions. During the 2011-12 academic year he oversaw the expansion team which he will continue with as the director of undergraduate services. In the summer of 2012 he began supporting the Fraternity's special projects under the direction of Grand Consul Santoli and his appointed committees.
A Tar Heel born southerner, Kent and his family lived in Baltimore, MD for 11 years where he became an avid lacrosse player and a fan of crab cakes and the Baltimore Ravens. His family later returned to Chapel Hill, NC where he attended high school at Cary Academy. In 2005 he began his college career at Virginia Tech where he pledged Sigma Chi later that year. He served the Eta Lambda chapter in multiple leadership positions including Quaestor, Derby Days chairman, and chapter editor. The motto of Virginia Tech, "Ut Prosim" translates to "that I may serve." He applied this to his life in the Blacksburg, VA community as a 4th and 5th grade mentor at the local elementary school. Kent continues to serve the Hokie Nation after his graduation in 2009 with a BS in Marketing Management as an active board member of the Chicago Hokie Alumni chapter.
Outside of work Kent crews a 36' racing sailboat and enjoys playing in social sport leagues. He is also a member of Chicago's John G. Shedd Aquarium. Kent has worked and traveled to many international cities but holds Chicago as one of his favorites.
