Samuel B. Smith first joined headquarters staff in June of 2009 and spent two years as Director of Expansion before transitioning into his current role as Director of Chapter Support.
A 2009 graduate in Business Administration, Smith served as Magister and Consul of the Delta Iota chapter of Sigma Chi earning honors as the 2008 Greek Man of the Year and the Rocky Mountain Province Balfour Award winner. Smith is a Life Loyal Sig and has volunteered as a recruitment facilitator for the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop and as a general facilitator for the NIC's Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute.
Smith is a die-hard Denver Broncos fan, a certified alligator wrestler, and the 2003 Pie-Eating Champion of Cheyenne Mountain High School.
The Director of Chapter Support works within the Undergraduate Services Team to provide an added level of guidance and support to the undergraduate chapters of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Through resource development, mentorship, on-site support and remote assistance from Evanston, the purpose of the Director of Chapter Support is to ensure the progress and success of our undergraduate chapters.
Responsibilities Include
- Provide education, support, and communication to various constituents within the Sigma Chi Fraternity
- Assist undergraduate chapters with their programming and operations through on-site visits and remote communication
- Maintain and expand expertise in Sigma Chi history and procedures with an emphasis on the Ritual
- Work within the team and Headquarters Staff to develop new mechanisms and resources for aiding in the success of our chapters
- Possess a diverse knowledge of all of Sigma Chi's leadership programs and workshops
- Integrate chapter strategic planning and confirm progress of said goals
- Coordinate with local and regional alumni to assist with advising of undergraduate chapters
