Serving in many roles, Schenkenfelder’s first position in Sigma Chi was pledge class president, which would motivated and catapulted him into other leadership roles including: Chapter editor, Tribune, risk manager, and Consul.
During his undergraduate years with Sigma Chi, he attended Horizons (2007), Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (2007 to 2010), and was later appointed as a member of the Peterson Significant Chapter Award International Review Committee (2010).
Schenkenfelder was involved in several organizations on campus ranging from vice president of recruitment for the Interfraternity Council to serving on the Up ‘Til Dawn executive committee. He studied abroad in Spain (2009) and Egypt (2010).
Upon graduating in 2010 with a degree in marketing with a concentration in sales, Schenkenfelder moved to south central China, where he lectured and advised at Central South University in Hunan Province for two years.
As the alumni and volunteer services coordinator, he plans to work hand-in-hand with alumni while motivating those who are trying get back involved with Sigma Chi. He will also be seeking out new ways to increase alumni involvement at both the chapter, provincial and international levels.
Liaison to the Alumni Services Committee - Support the Chairman and each of the committee representatives, including sub-committees, as needed, organize conference calls and logistics of in-person meetings and develop, manage and report on department budget activity.
Program and Project Coordination:
o Alumni Ambassador Program – market, implement and coordinate the recruitment, retention and training of volunteers for the program.
o Alumni Chapters/Associations/Clubs – provide support for existing groups and identify target cities or regions for potential new groups. Implement plans for the formation of new groups.
o Chapter/Province/International Balfour Award – compile, organize and format the Bud Adams Life Loyal grant proposal and collect names of winners at each level.
o Education and Training – assist in the development of resources and execution of programs aimed to educate alumni and volunteer members on the best practices of highly performing volunteers for involvement with undergraduate and alumnus populations.
o Non-Student Initiations – coordinate administrative elements of application process.
o Unrecorded Initiates – coordinate administrative elements.
