Non-Student Initiation Request

At the 2006 Grand Council, Sigma Chi voted on and passed a new policy by which Non-Students may become initiated members. This is an opportunity for men of character who (for many reasons) may not have had the opportunity to become an initiated member of Sigma Chi. If you would like nominate someone for Non-Student Initiation then please download and submit the following packet with all necessary documents and materials.

If you have any further questions about Non-Student Initiation then please contact the Director of Member Services at 847-869-3655

Pledge Program

Pledgeship in Sigma Chi prepares prospective members for a personal commitment to the ideals for which Sigma Chi stands and for the understanding and acceptance of the fundamental values of our Fraternity. True friendship, brotherhood and the lifelong development of character demand accountability for one's course in the Fraternity, in college and throughout life.

The Preparation for Brotherhood program is the beginning of our fraternal experience, and its paramount goal is the communication of expectations of our brothers, our academic institutions, and our society. Educational attainment, personal development and the contribution of value in all aspects of the world around must be fundamental expectations of brotherhood. The Preparation for Brotherhood program challenges pledges to discover the personal commitment that underlies our ideals, and to adopt it as their lifelong, binding obligation.

Recruitment and Mission 365

Mission 365 is Sigma Chi's innovative recruitment program that intends to enhance the Fraternity membership's quality and quantity. Led by C. Loren Butler, Idaho 1963, the Mission 365 Team was created in 2001 to address the recruitment issues found in many of Sigma Chi's undergraduate chapters. The team developed the Mission 365 program which was piloted at four chapters in 2003-2004, and each of those chapters has experienced a significant boost in its numbers–an average membership increase of 53 percent.

If you have any questions about the program, would like to become involved as a facilitator or would like to see Mission 365 implemented at your chapter, please contact Erich Sauer, director of leadership programs.
