Introduction
The Significant Sig Award is a prestigious honor, and its presentation should be not only memorable but also commensurate with the importance of the award. The most meaningful award presentations are organized and hosted by brothers who are close to the award recipient. We recommend that the brother who nominated an alumnus for the Significant Sig Award serve as the key contact and organizer for the presentation.
Planning Template
To help in the planning of an awards presentation, we provide this Award Ceremony Planning Template, available for download here. Most of the steps in this template apply to any local ceremony. The venue for the presentation will determine which of these steps you need to take during your planning. For example, a Significant Sig presentation at a Homecoming is unlikely to necessitate fees for admission, but an alumni chapter banquet provides a perfect opportunity to raise funds through ticket sales.
Sample Invitations and Programs
Sample programs and invitations have been collected from Sigs who have organized successful Significant Sig Award ceremonies. Download these examples by clicking here. We are hopeful that these programs and invitations will give you inspiration for creating your own collateral material for your event. A designer or computer savvy Sig or friend, along with a careful wordsmith, can create an elegant program and invitation for your event. If you would like to obtain Sigma Chi art or insignia to print with your program, please contact susan.lorimor@sigmachi.org. We would be happy to send you art for your program!
