Internships

Make a Difference by Taking Part in Summer Internship Opportunities at Sigma Chi

The Sigma Chi International Fraternity offers two separate internship opportunities throughout the summer months. One is with Sigma Chi International Headquarters supporting the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop, while the other is affiliated with the Horizons leadership development program.

Please read the descriptions below to see which of the two options you are most interested in pursuing. The applications for each internship are separate, but undergraduates are allowed to apply for both opportunities. Traditionally, undergraduate members can only be accepted into one or the other each year.

Horizons Summer Internship

General Overview

The Sigma Chi Fraternity has taken great strides in continually providing leadership development opportunities for each of its undergraduate members. In addition to participating in the Horizons leadership development program, undergraduates are also eligible to serve the Fraternity as an intern on the logistics team the year after attending Horizons as a participant.

Qualifications

Undergraduates applying for the Horizons summer internship must be past participants in the Horizons leadership program. The primary role interns play is that of a liaison between Horizons participants and Headquarters staff. Interns are responsible for establishing contact with each and every Horizons participant to ensure that the participants are adequately prepared for their sessions.

The interns’ secondary responsibilities include serving as a critical member of Team Aspen, the onsite logistical team, during the session. Interns will provide logistical support in addition to contributing to critical planning and development decisions that will ensure the proper, efficient and successful execution of the session.
