Create Internship Application
Brothers,
The Sigma Chi Fraternity has taken great strides in continually providing leadership development opportunities for each of its undergraduate members. Just last summer, you had the opportunity of a lifetime as a selected participant of one of these initiatives--the Horizons program. Now the time has come for us to select the new undergraduate interns from among you to serve the Horizons program for the upcoming year. The continued growth of the program only adds to the importance of the undergraduate intern. The internship position takes both great passion and dedication, sacrificing both your time and efforts for the betterment of Team Aspen, the undergraduate brothers and Horizons as a collective whole. While there is much work involved with such a position, the subsequent reward provided by the opportunity to return to Snowbird far outweighs this. It is our hope that you will consider this prospect as a way to continue your Horizons journey.
As an intern, the first and primary role that you will play will be to act as a liaison between Horizons participants and Headquarters staff. You will be responsible for establishing contact with each and every participant within your session to ensure that they are adequately prepared for their session. This includes ensuring that they have received and reviewed all necessary materials, completed those tasks requested of them, in addition to addressing any questions or concerns they might have. Furthermore, you will want to instill a sense of accomplishment, pride and excitement in them as they likely will have little knowledge of what to expect.
The interns’ secondary responsibilities include serving as a critical member of Team Aspen during the session. Interns are responsible for ensuring that the needs of the participants, Team Aspen, Facilitators and the program are met while the session is underway. Initially, you will oversee the arrival of all undergraduates to Snowbird. Then, you will provide logistical support in addition to contributing to critical planning and development decisions that will ensure the proper, efficient and successful execution of the session. Finally, you will be tasked with delivering the Sahara presentation on Day 6 as well as collecting and compiling pictures with Team Aspen for the week’s culminating video.
Horizons intern applications will be due February 4, 2013. The application must be submitted all at once to be accepted. You will only be allowed to submit one application per candidate.
