Page Grid
A grid system provides flexibility and ensures page layouts are interesting and not too symmetrical. Grids also help to make the designer's job easier with a flexible platform from which to begin their design.
A five column grid system has been set up for single letter-size and page spread documents. By this we mean that each page has been divided into 5 equal columns. These columns are used as a grid for placement of text and imagery.

Patterns
Sigma Chi uses a unique set of patterns to give our communications their distinctive family look and heighten their impact. Use of patterns in communication materials can help create consistency for a particular program or department. Sigma Chi has developed six patterns to give depth and flexibility ot the visual identity. They can also be used to create a background or highlight effect.
