Alumni chapters and associations are required to complete and send in the annual report form to Headquarters each year by February 15. This task not only fulfills the Governing Laws obligation, but also makes sure the General Fraternity is kept up to date on the most current officers and meeting information for each alumni chapter and association.

Additional Alumni Resources

For the next two years (2009-2011), the Alumni Affairs Committee will be chaired by Order of Constantine Sig C. Loren Butler, IDAHO 1963, alumnus representative to the Executive Committee. Butler is supported by a handful of dedicated volunteers who are working to help keep all of our alumni involved in the Fraternity past their undergraduate years. For the past two years, the Alumni Affairs Committee has been developing its Alumni Ambassador program.

Butler was a part of the committee that developed the Alumni Ambassador program, so the step up to become the chairman of the Alumni Affairs Committee was one he took on with confidence and pride. The Ambassador program officially launched at Balfour Leadership Training Workshop 2009 at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill. Numerous volunteers participated in the creation of the program over the past two years, which has now come to fruition to benefit the alumni journey of our members.

The following resources will serve as a supplement to the hard work that is required with any successful endeavor, as they aim to collect some of the best practices of our current alumni chapters and individual members. As new programs and resources are developed and revised, changes will be added to our growing sources of information posted to this section of the Web site.

Should you have any questions, comments or feedback, please contact the Director of Alumni Services Michael McFadden, at (847) 869-3655, ext. 254, or Mike.Mcfadden@sigmachi.org.

Alumni Chapter Activities - Best Practices

These seven key areas of focus for alumni chapters were derived after analyzing survey feedback from over 150 alumni chapters and over 200 alumni. A goal of an alumni chapter/association should be to offer a variety of activities that will appeal to the broad membership interests that exist in your community.
